The Best Ski Vacations

Looking for a great way to please the family? Consider a ski vacation. Everyone loves to ski, and there are many great locations to take the family to for a good time. Take a look at these locations.Sugarloaf, in the great state of Maine, is a ski resort sure to please your family. Located on a mountain named, appropriately, Sugarloaf Mountain, it has a grand history. In 1951 the first trail was cut by a group known as a The Bigelow Boys. It is today a premier ski area of the Northeast United States, second in elevation onto to the highest mountain in Main, Mount Katahdin. At the summit of Sugarloaf is a life to take the skier above treeline.New Hampshire offers fine skiing at Cannon Mountain, home of the New England Ski Museum, which contains the most extensive collection of historical ski equipment, literature, film, clothing, photographs, and artwork on the East Coast. The extensive archive is renowned by scholars and historians across the U.S., and the Museum is officially recognized by the United States Ski Association as a Regional Museum, one of only four in the country, and sure to please a ski enthusiast. On the south short of Georgian Bay in Ontario, Canada, Blue Mountain prides itself on being the largest ski area in the province. The resort offers several six man chair lifts and a pedestrian village is under construction. Enjoy your visit to Blue Mountain for a fantastic and unique experience. In upstate New York, Whiteface Mountain reigns king among ski resorts. The fifth highest mountain in New York State and one of the High Peaks of the Adirondack range Whiteface Mountain offers a 360 degree view of the mountains and on a clear day a visitor can see both Vermont and Canada. Near Lake Placid, Whiteface Mountain has a ski area with the greatest vertical drop in the eastern part of the country. In 1980 Whiteface hosted the alpine skiing competition of the Winter Olympics.Aspen Mountain in Colorado is world famous for fine skiing. Still called by the old name of Ajax by the locals, Aspen is a skier's delight, as are most Colorado resorts, including Vail. Another world famous western state resort is in Park City, Utah, home of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. All of the resorts listed provide great skiing.Modern skiing evolved gradually from snow shoeing, and a Norwegian, Sondre Norheim, is thought of as the father of modern skiing. In the 1800's he invented the form of skiing he called Slalom, but which we know today as Telemark skiing. While skiing has practical transportation value in many colder climate countries, and many militaries train troops in skiing, most people think of the sport involving taking a ski lift to the top of a mountain for a fast and fun downhill ride. When engaged in this activity most people prefer to wear warm clothing and follow runs, trails or slopespatrolled ski routes that are checked for safety. Skiers also enjoy cross country skiing, but for safety sake most stay within the boundaries of the resort. In fact, most European countries have laws against cross country skiing outside of the resort's boundaries due to the danger of avalanche and the high cost of search and rescue operations.Skiing enthusiasts report a euphoria that comes from skiing, a feeling they liken to flying and many more people are engaged in the sport today than ever before, with many fine ski schools teaching the basics. Even if you've never skied before, the basic skills can be acquired quickly and you'll be on the slopes enjoying yourself in a way you've never experienced before. Skiing is a great way to get in good physical shape, and at the end of the day, sitting around a fireplace in the lodge, bundled up with a warm blanket, and your spouse sitting next to you, holding a cup of hot cocoa in hand for sipping. This is the perfect ending to a wonderful day, which you'll experience at any of the six great ski vacation resorts listed. So give a ski vacation a try, and be very glad you did.

Costa Rica - Your Place In The Sun

In Central America, just south of Nicaragua and north of Panama is Costa Rica. Costa Rica has the Caribbean Sea to the east and the Pacific Ocean on the west side. Therefore, the majority of Costa Rica's borders, sixty-five percent, are coastline. Although a relatively small area, about the size of Vermont and New Hampshire combined, it has everything one could want in a vacation. Beautiful white sand beaches, great surf, active volcanoes, natural hot springs, and towering rain forests are just some of the sites in Costa Rica. Site seeing in the area is relatively simple via rental car or public bus. A number of the principal mountain ranges are volcanic, and visitors can easily visit many of these areas. In the province of Cartago, for example, which is not far from the capital of San Jos, you will find Iraz volcano, which erupted in the early sixties. Pos volcano, located in the province of Alajuela, has one of the largest active craters in the world. In addition, Arenal volcano, in the northwestern region, delights thousands of visitors each year to a constant stream of red, hot lava rocks tumbling down its slopes.Picturesque forests grow in the crater of the dormant Barva in Heredia. Arenal, a young volcano in the northern part of the country is constantly active (and is the site of a spa with natural hot springs). The country's highest peak, Mount Chirrip, is not volcanic; it measures 12.412 feet. On a clear day one can see both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans from atop Mt. Chirripo. The capital of Costa Rica is San Jos and is a good starting place for exploring the country. It is conveniently located in the center of the country and all the bus lines stop here. The port of Limon on the Caribbean Coast has quite a different atmosphere from the capital. Life is easy going on the Caribbean coast compared to the city life in San Jose.San Jos is located in the Central Valley region of the country. Evenings in San Jos can be cool do to the high altitude, but you will not forget that you are in a tropical place even in this bustling city. The city itself is busy and filed with traffic. There are many things to do, but travelers often miss these sites choosing instead to head straight from the airport to beaches or rainforests. Although San Jos is not the most beautiful city in the world, it is generally safe and has a lot to offer tourists.

StaycationsA trend here to stay

Loosely defined, a staycation refers to a vacation spent at home where, instead of going away, you do short day trips"typically within three hours from your residence. The concept itself has enlightened many to the tourist treasures quite literally in their backyards. We get so hung up on traveling to far away places that we really do overlook gems that are pretty close to home"like those places you might see in a brochure or flyer at a rest area while youre traveling. A staycation makes it possible for you to schedule mini-vacations to those kind of places and keep your costs down, said Peter Hans, president of Resort Maps, creator of customized travel maps in more than 90 cities and towns across the U.S. and U.K. So, what can you do on your staycation? Thats the beauty of it, you can do anything. Some easy, low- cost ideas include: Visit a local water park " In most parts of the country, you can find a water park within a three-hour drive of your home. Pack a picnic basket or, better yet, take some coals and barbecue. Many of these parks have barbies you can use. Hike and picnic at a state or national park " Be a little daring and venture off to one you havent visited before. Outdoor music or film festivals " Free outdoor concerts are in abundance during the summer. For many, you can just spread out a blanket or prop up a lawn chair. Also, more and more areas hold film festivals. Foreign Cuisine Night " Maybe a trip to another county is not in the budget. A night out to sample some foreign cuisine can be the next best thing. For example, have a Mexican night at a nearby Mexican restaurant, Indian night at your local Indian establishment, etc. If youve never tried that kind of food, even better. Museum Day " Youve probably got several within a 45-minute drive from your home, yet how many times have you been to one of them? Take one day and hit as many museums as you can. Family Game Night " Lest you think its mandatory to go somewhere for your staycation. Hosting a family game night can be fun and relaxing"whether its a Wii golf tournament or board game marathon. Camp out in your backyard " Young kids especially will love the adventure of pitching a tent in the backyard. Plus, youve got the conveniences of your home without the expense of a campsite. Added Hans, Staycations provide a viable alternative to a vacation, allowing similar adventures you might experience on a vacation without the big expense. Who knows, you may even like them better. Especially when you can put your head down on your own pillow at the end of the day. Resort Maps offer a number of ideas on possible local excursions for your staycation. Colorful, hand-drawn maps of resort cities and towns across 20 states, as well as parts of the UK, Resort Maps advertise restaurants, accommodations, retail stores, factory outlets, recreation and attractions, real estate and other local services. With landmarks prominently displayed on the maps, Resort Maps are an easy and fun way to find your way around town whether you are visiting, new to the area or you just want to know what's happening around your town. Destination Wedding Planning

So, you're beginning to plan your wedding. Exciting, isn't it? First you have to pick the venue for your ceremony. Luckily you chose one that won't break the bank. Next there's the venue for the reception. Uh-oh, the bank's starting to bulge around the seams. That's okay; everything will be fine as long as you keep the guest list down. Hopefully Aunt Gladys' branch of the family won't mind if they're notOh, they do mind. And so does your cousin's ex-girlfriend's brother and his family. And your boss and her husband and three kids. Pretty soon your dental hygienist is perturbed that she's not invited. Don't look now, but your wedding budget's going to explode. It's about this time you wish you could just skip the wedding and go straight to the honeymoon on some tranquil island somewhere. Right?Hmmaybe you can. It's called eloping. Or, in some circles, a destination wedding with just the two of you.It seems more and more people are foregoing the traditional big wedding for a smaller affair in some exciting destination with just the bride and groom, or perhaps a small number of close family members. And, why not. With the high price of wedding planning these days, a destination wedding or eloping just makes sense.Of course, just because you've opted for eloping or a small destination wedding doesn't mean you can throw your wedding planning checklist away. It's just a smaller checklist. Let's review what might be on your destination wedding planning checklist:1. Choosing a DestinationThis is the fun part. You have many fun choices before you. You can get married:- In a hot-air balloon over Colorado.- At Disneyland.- On a beach in Southern California with just you, your partner, the wedding officiant, and a million dollar view that's costing you nothing.- On a roller coaster in New Jersey.- While snorkeling in Maui.- Overlooking Niagara Falls.- While bungee jumping in Las Vegas.- At a historic inn in Vermont. While planning the location for your destination wedding or elopement, do keep in mind the time of year you'll be getting married. You can keep the costs down considerably if you go during the off-season of the chosen location.2. Make the Travel PlansMaking your travel plan far ahead of time will also cut down on costs. Also, be creative when considering the mode of travel. Maybe you could travel by train instead of by plane. A train can add some more romance to your wedding plans.3. The Legal IssuesYou need to check on the laws governing marriage in your chosen location. If you're a U.S. citizen and you plan on getting married in another country, for example, be sure to research what documentation you might need. There might also be a longer waiting period from getting your marriage license to actually marrying. Also, make sure you have your passport up to date.4. The Wedding Officiant5. The Photographer6. Cake and ChampagneWhatever location you choose, be it a New England inn or bungee jumping in Las Vegas, you will probably find a company which will provide the wedding officiant, photographer and cake and champagne, as well as limousine transportation to the ceremony site. Be sure to ask if they're included in your package. If not, make sure you have them all lined up before your ceremony. An elopement or destination wedding can be good for your budget and your stress level. And, if your Aunt Gladys is mad because she's not invited, bring her back something from Maui. That should keep her happy.

Get Ready for That Ski Vacation

Planning a ski vacation doesn't have to be all that difficult. You pick a mountain that'll have snow when you arrive and you pack some articles of clothing that'll keep you warm and you're good to go. And you don't have to worry - unless you're heading off to ski uncharted territory, you'll most likely be able to purchase anything you've forgotten once you arrive at your destination. But why waste time tracking down convenience stores when you can be tracking down virgin snow? Here's what you need to know to get your ski vacation off to a good start. Most important to take with you on your ski vacation is your wallet and your paperwork. You need your travel tickets, hotel confirmations, maps/directions, passport (if traveling out of the country), and any pre-purchased tickets. Besides those important items, you'll need suitable cold-weather clothing to wear while skiing and aprs clothing. Bring along a swimsuit, a pair of slippers and shoes, a camera, and toiletries (including sunscreen and lip balm). And of course, don't forget your ski equipment. If you're staying at a vacation rental, your accommodations likely will provide you with everything else you'll need to feel right at home. Where will you be heading on your ski vacation? Your options abound and where you end up really depends on how far you're willing to travel. In the US, you can plan a ski vacation to Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Alaska, California, Montana, the Rocky Mountains, or Lake Tahoe. You can head north to Canada or south to Chile or Argentina and find many desirable locations. You can ski the Swiss Alps or the mountainous regions of Italy, France, Austria or Spain. You can even plan a ski vacation at multiple locations in Asia! Ski vacations are fun because there's just so much to do on and off the slopes. So get going!Kent Krueger has been involved in the Travel industry for over 3 years. He has advised many people in the industry and the corporate world on travel ideas, savings and successfully marketing personally owned vacation home rentals. Measuring nesting sea turtles in the Caribbean, clearing trails in the cloud forest of Central America, researching migratory bird populations in the Yucatan, learning organic farming techniques in New Zealand, teaching English to rural school children in Ecuador, and caring for orphaned flying foxes in Australia. These are a few of the opportunities available through Explorations in Travel's volunteer placement program. Placements for adults of all ages are available in Puerto Rico, Mexico, Belize, Costa Rica, Ecuador, New Zealand, Samoa and Australia. Volunteers work in forest reserves, coral reef conservation projects, migratory bird sanctuaries, sea turtle nesting projects, organic farms, animal shelters, rural schools, orphanages, environmental education programs, and wildlife rehabilitation centers. Stacey Morris from Redmond, WA, a volunteer at an animal clinic in Puerto Rico tells us, The work is not just answering the phone, it's hands-on. We often receive requests asking specifically for older or retired volunteers, Debbie Jacobs, the president of Explorations in Travel, informs us, organizations appreciate the experience and maturity they bring to the job. College students taking a semester off, or high school students taking a year off before university, gain valuable experience out in the field. Volunteers have opportunities to immerse themselves in the daily routines of another culture and improve their skills in a foreign language. When you go visit a country as a tourist you are fairly well insulated from real life' by the tour company, says Art Cartwright, a past volunteer now living in Costa Rica, they blanket the area around the lodges with insecticides, give you guides to protect you from yourself and not much happens. 25th Anniversary of Moon Handbooks South Pacific

Emeryville, CA June 1, 2004--In June, 1979, Moon Publications of Rutland, Vermont, published the 1st edition of South Pacific Handbook. A quarter century later, Moon Handbooks South Pacific is still the leading travel guide to Polynesia and Melanesia, with an 8th edition due from Avalon Travel Publishing in late 2004. In 1973, Bill Dalton's Indonesia Handbook launched the Moon Handbooks series, which now numbers over 100 titles. South Pacific Handbook was Moon's second book, researched by David Stanley and put together by co-author Bill Dalton. The 1979 edition of South Pacific Handbook was printed by Colorcraft Ltd. of Hong Kong, which is still used by Moon's successor company, Avalon Travel Publishing.South Pacific Handbook was the first travel guide to the Pacific islands, covering the entire region including Micronesia. A few years later two Pacific territories which had full chapters in the 1st edition ceased to exist. New Hebrides achieved independence from Britain and France in 1980 and became Vanuatu, while in 1986 the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands broke into four separate entities as the United States restructured its interests in Micronesia. Early editions of South Pacific Handbook now provide source material for historians.Bill Dalton withdrew as co-author after the 1st edition, and David Stanley has researched and written all subsequent editions. In 1985, the Micronesia chapters were made into a separate guide, and Papau New Guinea was dropped from the coverage. The 1979, 1982, and 1985 editions of South Pacific Handbook pioneered travel through the region, and it wasn't until 1987 that the first competitors began appearing. To meet this challenge, the 1989 edition of South Pacific Handbook was expanded to include the full range of accommodations, not only the budget properties previously featured. The 5th, 6th, and 7th editions of Moon Handbooks South Pacific appeared in 1993, 1996, and 2000, and Stanley has recently made five extensive trips to research an 8th edition. Twenty-five years after its genesis in 1979, Moon Handbooks South Pacific is still what Paul Theroux called "the most user-friendly travel guide" to the South Pacific.About Moon Handbooks South Pacific:The 976-page 7th edition of Moon Handbooks South Pacific (ISBN 1566911729) was published by Avalon Travel Publishing of Emeryville, California, in January, 2000. An 8th edition will be released in late 2004. David Stanley is also the author of Moon Handbooks Tahiti: Including the Cook Islands (ISBN 1566914124), Moon Handbooks Fiji (ISBN 1566913365), and Moon Handbooks Tonga-Samoa (ISBN 1566911745). Sterling Valley Systems announces launch of InntopiaP2P.

Stowe, VT April 14, 2004 -- Sterling Valley Systems, Inc., operators of the Inntopia online booking engine, today announces the launch of InntopiaP2P, a unique Internet-based peer-to-peer commerce solution for lodging and non-lodging travel suppliers. The product is a first of its kind in the travel industry. An industry leading provider of online booking solutions for lodging properties and travel resellers, Inntopia's new functionality now allows for non-lodging travel suppliers, such as tour operators, equipment rental outfits, activity providers and special event producers, to rent or sell their products online for a small commission. These travel suppliers can offer online reservations at their website, as well as at area lodging websites and other destination or otherwise affiliated websites."In general, online packaging of travel-related inventory has been fairly restrictive to date," comments Sterling Valley Systems president, Trevor Crist. "Now, with InntopiaP2P, anyone can offer on-the-fly dynamic packaging, without having to individually manage each third party package component." The decentralized system allows any travel supplier to make their products available online at a multitude of websites, at their own site, destination sites and aggregator sites. The system also enables travel suppliers to offer any other travel supplier's product or products at their own website. This peer-to-peer system enables travel suppliers to also be resellers and vice versa."Another real benefit of this technology is that suppliers can attract more business to their own website and keep the customer at that site," adds Crist. "The need for suppliers to differentiate themselves from travel aggregators and offer a more compelling product at their own website means a big competitive edge. With InntopiaP2P hotels, for example, can make their own website a comprehensive vacation planning site for their destination." Travel suppliers pay no up front fees and only pay a commission for items reserved or sold online. And all travel suppliers, lodging and non-lodging, earn a portion of commissions for reservations made at their website for any of their peers in the network. The model allows for all travel suppliers to not only sell their supply online but also make money at their website.Inntopia also just recently announced the launch of Inntopia 4.0, a comprehensive update and rebuild to its online reservation system for lodging properties. All of the new technology complies with the latest OTA (Open Travel Alliance) specifications. For more information, call Sterling Valley Systems toll-free, 1-877-740-4143.About InntopiaThe Inntopia reservation system has been in use since 1998, making it one of the oldest and most trusted Internet booking engines on the market. Review Of Stephen B. Wiley's First Book Of Poetry: HERO ISLAND

Poet Stephen B. Wiley's first book of poetry, Hero Island, reflects tender snapshots and reminiscent overviews of various stages of his life as a youngster working on a farm in New Jersey, summer vacations spent with his family in Northern Vermont, and his positive stance on life. His elegant command of language magically explores and brings to life such varied topics as the shovel we are reluctant to part with, city living, opening up of the summer cottage, shucking corn, Albert Einstein and world federation, and the more weighty experience as the death of a loved one. All are composed with a great deal of introspection and with a sincere palette of words that are easily accessible to even the inexperienced poetry reader.Particularly touching and one that struck home is "Going," where Wiley portrays the passing away of his ninety-four year old father-something I personally just recently experienced with the passing away of my father-in-law. The ending of the poem's unadorned spoken language poignantly describes his inner feelings:"I knew father wouldn't die I bent over his bed though and we embraced with a kiss as he was going."Above all, Wiley's strength lies in that his poems are characterized by a sense of wonder and nostalgia with which he imbues his reflections, that is neither sad nor frustrated, as is often the case with so many poets. Moreover, descriptions are effortless and fresh, reverberating with vitality, as exemplified in the first two stanzas of his poem To My Hands:"Yes, yes I do admire your solo work how you throw a ball write your name tip you hatAnd I'm proud that things are named for you giving a helping hand handing down your outgrown clothes even handing over something you shouldn't have"Quite noteworthy is Wiley's remarkable skill with language, perhaps attributable to his legal training. When I interviewed him and asked him how had this affected his poetry writing, his succinct reply was "words are the subject matter of law - spoken words and written words - and precision of language is most important. Poetry draws on the same strengths." That just about sums up the poetic style of Stephen B. Wiley.Although, I must admit that I initially opened Wiley's book of poems with some trepidation, my only grumble, when reaching the last poem, was that I did not have enough of it. It is my hope that Hero Island only marks the inauguration of a long and creative career.Norm Goldman is the Editor of the Book Reviewing site http://www.bookpleasures.com and the travel site, http://www.sketchandtravel.comNorm is also a travel writer and together with his artist wife, Lily, they meld words with art focusing on romantic and wedding destinations.

World Renown Psychic Rhiannon Waits gives current news on her talk show and upcoming workshops.

February 29, 2004--As far back as she can remember, Rhiannon Waits has known she had a special gift. Although she knew she could always see what most could not, it was not until she was in her 20's that she realized she needed to share this gift to help the world. She has went from a unsure young lady who did not take payment for her readings to a world renown psychic who teaches the masses to reach out and accept that our loved ones are here and wanting for us to say Hello Again. She has made this her life work. To go forth and reach as many people as possible and connect them with their loved ones while also teaching them to embrace positive energy and use this to build a positive life full of happiness and love. She also hopes that through her teachings people will know that when we say goodbye to someone, it is indeed not a goodbye, but a new way to say hello again.A common question that Rhiannon gets is concerning a person's love life. When asked about her own love life, Rhiannon is quick to speak of her partner Steve. A one-time hard skeptic, turned believer, Steve stays by Rhiannon side as she travels to spread her message. Although at this time they have not formalized their relationship through vows, they have a spiritual bond that has grown stronger as each day passes and have no plans of ever being apart. Rhiannon is also blessed with the love and support of her children. Most people are quick to ask if they are as gifted as she is. Her answer was yes. Each one of my children has their own special gift that they are developing. When asked, one of her children said once he was teased in school after classmates found out he had a psychic mother. However it went away and now most kids think it is cool to have a psychic mom. He as well thinks its cool, outside of never being able to accidentally lose a note from his teacher ever. Anyone who is blessed to see Rhiannon at home with her family is treated to a home full of love, and understanding. Rhiannon has several new projects going on as well. On March 24 she is a guest on the Lou Gentile radio show. She will be taking calls as well as speaking to listeners about the effects of positive and negative energy in their life. She also will be appearing in Atlanta Georgia (Life Arts) during the first of April speaking, doing a workshop and reading. She will be appearing with Dannion Brinkley, Rev Michael Beckwith, Paul Perry and David Icke to name a few. There is talk of her Hello Again show taking place at this Life Arts Expo event. Rhiannon also plans to do several seminars and workshops in the Florida panhandle area.In interviewing a few of her clients, friends and family, I decided to share a few of the inputs I had. Several people from her previous sessions were happy to let their experiences be printed, as well, regarding Rhiannon. I recently met Rhiannon for the first time. She instantly was able to pick up on a health issues I have kept private. She was able to put into perspective what I needed to do and help me find ways to deal with it better than ever. - Sarah from Florida After meeting Rhiannon for the first time she instantly saw I was having problems about going overseas. Not only did she put those fears to rest, she also helped me to see the positive energy in going. " David ( SRA in the Air Force) If there is ever an opportunity to meet her, take it and talk to her. Have a social visit and take it from there. I never believed in psychics until I met her, I was the biggest skeptic and put her to the test. She is a very special lady.- Mike from Vermont I went with my mother to her workshop. My daddy instantly came through and let me know he is always there. I knew my daddy watched over me, but hearing it from her made me realized he is still there and still loves me and sees me everyday. He is still proud of what I do everyday. " Adena 12 yr old who lost her daddy as a child.Rhiannon is multi gifted yet her ability to speak to the other side has become one of her most sought after traits. Rhiannon wanted to share with me, her support of John Edward who recently was in the spotlight after a 20/20 interview that did not go as well as his normal shows. Rhiannon states that even though someone may wish to speak to a loved one that sometimes spirits may not wish to communicate or they do not come through at that time. It is not always easy to communicate with a spirit. They are not waiting on demand to speak whenever asked. In addition, there are times when the medium themselves may be ill or drained and not able to communicate with the other side as easily as a day when they are better balanced. She emphasizes that John Edward is a truly gifted psychic medium. Rhiannon's main goal is life is to help others. After meeting with her, her energy will stay with you for a long time helping you to overcome the obstacles in your life. This is something I have experienced and seen for myself. Like Mike from Vermont, I suggest you meet her and judge for yourself.

Golf in Orlando: Playing Links-Style at the Royal St. Cloud - Unpretentious Golf at its Best

For a real links-style golf experience we discovered the Royal St. Cloud Golf Links, located in St. Cloud, about 25 minutes southeast of the Orlando airport or the Disney area. The Royal St. Cloud Links greet you with a rolling layout of links-style fairways, punctuated by classic links bunkers that feature names such as Hell, Spectacles, Devil's Pocket and Hoofprint. True to its link heritage, every club in the bag will be utilized as the terrain is naturally varied.Unlike other Orlando golf courses, the Royal St. Cloud is free of any residential developments and offers a pure golf experience. The design features four sets of tees and from the blue tee offers a championship length of 7,111 yards and a 74.6 rating, all on flawless fairways and silky-smooth Tifeagle greens. Its motto, as printed above the entrance to the club house is "Original Golf Played Here", and indeed the Royal St. Cloud features original style golf at its unpretentious best. I had a chance to talk to Bill Filson, the Director of Golf and since 2002 co-owner of this facility.Bill has an extensive teaching background. He has personally studied under some of the top-ranked teaching professionals and brings 12 years of teaching experience that featured beginners to PGA tour professionals. Bill has consistently been a top-ranked PGA Professional. The Royal St. Cloud's teaching staff is complemented by Dave Rummels who brings 17 years of valuable PGA Tour experience with him and can share advice from the "Tour" with the students. Associate Professional, Doug Holloway, has 16 years coaching experience. At the Royal St. Cloud Golf Links the commitment to teaching the game of golf commitment includes state-of-the art video equipment and even a teaching tent for inclement weather. Lessons, programs, and clinics are offered for every skill level and requirement. Bill explained that they run very reasonably priced children's clinics at $7.00 per clinic and the club has 120 members in their junior program. Ladies can also learn the sport without embarrassment in a relaxed, comfortable environment. And with every family membership at the club kids play for free.Bill prides himself on offering one of the greatest values in golf in the Orlando area. For the 2005-2006 season rates vary from $46 to $48 from November 1 to January 10, and $64 from January 11 to April 30, 2006. Discounted tee time rates are available after 11 am or 12 pm respectively, 7 days/week. Bill went on to say that the fees at the Royal St. Cloud are always reasonable, and that he aims not to oversell his course, but to exceed the visitors' expectations. In addition, he offers a very unique proposition: a 100% money-back guarantee with no conditions if you didn't enjoy your playing experience at the Royal St. Clouds. He said in the almost three years since he has run this course only 2 people ever asked for a refund; a phenomenal achievement, considering that several tens of thousands of rounds are played here every year. One of the very unique features of this course is the handcrafted stonework which is evident in four bridges found throughout the course that have been hand-built by one individual brick by brick. Bill said that some of the bridges are even a little bit crooked, just to give them more character. The most famous stone bridge can be found on the 5th hole and many of the British visitors to this golf course come here specifically for this unique feature.Bill explained that his golf course serves a value-based market that is composed of local residents, snowbirds escaping the cold northern winters, and British golfers, a very loyal crowd who refer this facility to many of their friends back home. The Royal St. Cloud Golf Links have been rated as one of the Top 5 Most Underrated Golf Courses in the Orlando area and they have hosted the 2004 and 2005 British Junior Amateur. With its wide-open fairways the course looks deceptively simple, however, I experienced very quickly the unique challenges offered by the Royal St. Cloud. Traditional links golf is played on the ground, unfortunately I still managed to find water several times, despite the generously open fairways. The other feature I really enjoyed were a number of the ponds on the back nine of the course that were playing host to a variety of local wildlife and water birds. I particularly enjoyed watching a very rare specimen of wood stork stalking the edges of a pond for food, and a crane standing upright with stretched out wings. The course had a very relaxed, casual and friendly feel to it and we enjoyed a tasty hot dog after our game on the beautiful patio outside the clubhouse as a way to cap off a very enjoyable golf experience on a gorgeous day.Driving Directions from the Disney Area: Royal St. Cloud Golf Links is an easy 25 miles from the Disney area. (25-35 minute approximate drive time) Take Osceola Parkway to the Florida Turnpike Take Exit 244 to Hwy 192, turn left. Go 4.6 miles to Vermont Ave, turn right. Take Vermont 2.1 miles to Creek Woods Road, take a left. Go only .7 miles to Michigan Ave, take a right directly into the Golf Club.Statistics Par 72 Yards Rating Slope Blue 7111 74.6 128 Gold 6680 72.2 125 Green 6083 69.2 115 Citrus 5531 66.6 111For more information please visit Royal St. Cloud Golf Links website or call them at (407) 891-7010.Susanne Pacher is the publisher of a website called Travel and Transitions (http://www.travelandtransitions.com). Great Smoky Mountians

The Great Smoky Mountains Appalachian Trail - Its official name is the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. However, unlike those famous parks, the Appalachian Trail is not a concentrated preserve, with campgrounds and paths within its boundaries. The 281 miles (452 km) of the trail in Maine are particularly difficult. More moose are seen by hikers in this state than any other on the trail. The northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail is on Katahdin's Baxter Peak in Baxter State Park. The western section includes a mile-long (1.6 km) stretch of boulders at Mahoosuc Notch, often called the trail's hardest mile. Also, although there are dozens of river and stream fords on the Maine section of the trail, the Kennebec River is the only one on the trail that requires a boat crossing. The most isolated portion in the state (and arguably on the entire trail) is known as the "100-Mile Wilderness." This section heads east -northeast from the town of Monson and ends outside Baxter State Park just south of Abol Bridge.Undoubtedly the most important difference between the Appalachian Trail and other national-park units is that volunteers make it possible. Each year, thousands of people maintain, patrol, and monitor the footpath and its surrounding lands. From the Highlands of Roan in Tennessee to the strenuous trek up Katahdin in Maine, the Appalachian Trail stretches over 14 different states: Maine - 281 Miles , New Hampshire - 161 Miles, Vermont - 146 Miles, Massachusetts - 90 Miles, Connecticut - 52 Miles, New York - 88 Miles, New Jersey - 74 Miles, Pennsylvania - 232 Miles, Maryland - 41 Miles, West Virginia - 2 Miles, Virginia - 544 Miles, Tennessee-North Carolina - 371 Mile and Georgia - 75 MilesIn it's diverse route the Appalachian Trail and passes through more than 60 federal, state, and local parks and forests. Hundreds of roads cross it. In some parts, the Trail "corridor" is only a few hundred feet wide. The Appalachian Trail is an adventure of a lifetime with it's true beautiful wilderness, wild animals and all! Don't miss it!Anthony Benjamin is an avid world traveler, lover of nature and animals. Advertise Online To Get More Bookings For Your Vacation Rental Home

'Renting by Owner' is a growing trend. Whether you own a beach house in the Caribbean, a ski chalet in Vermont, or a condo in Hawaii, renting by owner has been touted as the best way to maximize your rental income. For the thousands of second home owners who rent their vacation homes to help pay the mortgage and other costs, renting by owner isn't possible due to career or other life demands. However, augmenting your property manager supplied bookings with for rent by owner bookings may be worth a second look in the tightening travel market and with insurance and other costs going up.Having a property manager manage your vacation rental has its advantages - you won't be the one getting the calls in the middle of the night when tenants locks themselves out, or when the toilet is plugged or the furnace doesn't work. You don't have to worry about answering the phone, booking the property, advertising, cleaning, maintenance or a myriad of other items a property manager takes care of for you.Renting vacation homes doesn't have to be exclusively for rent by owner or exclusively managed by a property manager. Having a property manager handle the daily maintenance, check in, cleaning and other miscellaneous chores can co-exist and actually be enhanced by marketing your property on for rent by owner Web sites. If your life is too hectic to exclusively rent by owner the best thing to do is approach your property manager and see if they are willing to accept bookings you might get on your own via the for rent by owner Web sites. Some managers are willing to reduce the commission charged for bookings that you bring in. The commissions won't be eliminated altogether since the property manager still needs to handle check-in, cleaning and other miscellaneous chores. It's reasonable to ask for and get a reduction for the booking however. Often the reduction is in the range of 10 - 15%.Once your property manager agrees (you may want to ask that the details be spelled out in your property management contract if it isn't already in there), research several vacation rentals by owner Web sites. They each have their strengths and the larger, established brands have a loyal following. Many of these for rent by owner sites enjoy high rankings for many competitive search phrases on Google and Yahoo and also enjoy repeat travelers who come back to the site whenever they travel and wish to rent. Some sites to check out include VRBO.com, CyberRentals.com, GreatRentals.com, A1Vacations.com and a new entry - HomeAway.com. For less than $300 a year, which is often less than four lines for one month in your local paper, you'll get up to 12 photos, almost unlimited text, online calendars and rate cards.Right now Homeaway.com has an interesting offer - for only $299/year you get your property listed on CyberRentals.com, GreatRentals.com, A1Vacations.com and HomeAway.com. CyberRentals and HomeAway are cited by Forbes.com as among the best of the web for vacation rentals. Once you place your listing online make sure to follow these tips for successful renting:Respond as quickly as possible to your inquiries. Life moves quickly and Internet readers are unwilling to wait for days for an answer to questions. Responding quickly can make the difference between getting the booking and having the traveler book elsewhere.Supply extra information. such as a new addition or upgrade to the property, a wonderful seasonal event, opening of a new restaurant or anything else that increases the readers familiarity with the area or piques their interest significantly affects booking decisions.Show interest in the reader. and enthusiasm for your vacation home. Be patient even if the answer to a question is on your website. Sometimes people ask questions to verify what they've read online.Welcome children. More than two million children are enrolled in year round schools and available to take vacation during the off seasons. Additionally there are millions more who aren't yet in school.Photographs are worth a thousand words. Check with your property manager to see if the photos they shot are available for you to use, if not, have some new photos taken. Make sure to show the kitchen, main living room, outside of the house, bedrooms and any special features such as a grand fireplace or a fantastic view.Accept pets. More than 29 million Americans brought their pets on trips, according to the Travel Industry Association of America. If you're looking for a few extra weeks rental, accepting pets could be the answer.

Traveling In Style: Luxury Vacations

No matter where you'd like to go, or the type of vacation you're looking for, there's a luxury vacation waiting for you. Why consider a luxury vacation? It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you'll want to repeat. Luxury vacations offer a chance to see the world, yet get away from it all. Booking this type of vacation can be easy as well, with everything taken care of for you.The luxury vacation doesn't begin when you arrive. It begins even before you leave home, because you'll have peace of mind that everything is in order, and great anticipation for the wonderful experience ahead. When you book this vacation, everything is taken care of ahead of time. You'll have travel arranged to the airport, to your hotel, and everything in between. Personal attendants could greet you; you could have a private driver while on vacation, or choose from any other of a wide range of services. Depending on your destination, you'll have an assortment of amenities and activities from which to choose. Interested in a private beach in the Caribbean? Scuba diving in a secluded area? Private skiing? Whatever you're looking for, a luxury vacation can accommodate! Luxury vacations are available worldwide. While many people automatically think of beautiful sunny beaches and aqua green water in association with a luxury vacation, there are many locations and activities to choose from. Consider a European ski vacation or even a quite getaway in the rolling hills of Vermont. If you're looking for a more exotic locale, you may want to travel to Thailand and stay in a private, multi-million dollar residence with full amenities and personal service. To book your luxury vacation, consider working with an agent who specializes in this type of travel. There are also many options to choose from online, but this requires some additional research or word-of-mouth information to be sure that you are buying from a reputable company. Your luxury vacation should be a once-in-a-lifetime experience because of the fine travel, service, and accommodations, not because it goes horribly wrong. Your agent or service company personalizes your vacation on every level, so the amount you spend on the getaway is up to you. You may choose to do a "budget" vacation or go all-out with every amenity possible. The beauty of this type of plan is that you can choose options that simply aren't available through traditional travel plans. If you're seeking adventure or solitude, you can make plans and seek the appropriate accommodations. Many companies offer exclusive options, from travel in private jets to staying in private residencies, all complete with top-notch service. Because you will spend more on a luxury vacation than on other types of travel, consider seeking referrals from friends and family who have gone on similar vacations. A good provider is key; there are many out there that claim to be the best. It's worth the time and effort to do some research prior to booking. Be sure to find out what the "fine print" is regarding rescheduling and any other unforeseen circumstances. Having peace of mind about the vacation itself will make it that much more enjoyable.

All the days where you expected a simple flash of your drivers license or your beautiful tan to be a testimony of your ethnicity to travel from Cancun or the Caribbean are soon going to be over. From 1st of June 2009, the government of the United States is placing the laws of Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) into effect as a means of stabilizing and strengthening the borders involving Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, the Caribbean region and the United States. You would need to get your Passport in order to go in and out of these multifold places. Therefore, the simplest solution to steering the governments policies is to get a Passport. Even though you might be able to travel to a few of your neighboring places with only your license or Identification Card but in order to get in the States, you would need your Passport. To cut it short and that too, simply, you need to produce your passport, in order to travel home by air. According to the regulations of WHTI, you would even need to produce your passport if you are crossing the border checkpoint via a boat, in your car, or even by foot. The declaration of you citizenship would no longer work. And just to recap the previous statements, WHTI now requires all the travelers to offer their passport or other approved secure document which denotes your identity and your citizenship for travel through sea, land or air. This regulation from WHTI is applicable to all the people of the United States, Canada or Bermuda who were formerly excused from providing their passports. Your options now strictly remain to present either your Passport or a membership of a Trusted Traveler Card program such as NEXUS which is used for travel involving the United States and Canada, or SENTRI which is used for travel linking the United States and Mexico. Two new programs are also provided for your aid in order to provide accommodation for this initiative, they are, the U.S. Passport Card, which is fine for traveling through land or sea but would not wok for air travel. The second program is the Enhanced Drivers License, which once again is only for land and sea travel and not for air. This card is presently only issued by the states of New York, Vermont and Michigan. All under the age of 16 are exempt from this and may only present their birth certificate. All the Mexican Citizens are not influenced by WHTI. The Mexican nationals, with the inclusion of children, are presently to show their passport with a non-immigrant visa. They can even show a laser visa Border Crossing Card in order to go across the U.S. border. This prerequisite is also applicable to the members of SENTRI program. Aluminum Recycling Partnership Inked by Vermont E-Scrap Recycler and Lithuanian Smelting Concern

Good Point Recycling Hosts Lithuanian Smelter Representatives: DeConsus America investing in electronics recycling for European and USA generatorsMIDDLEBURY, VERMONT:Good Point Recycling, the TV and Computer Recycling division of American Retroworks Inc., added a new staff member in December. Jonas Kriauciunas, a representative of DeConsus, will be working several different shifts at the Vermont Recycling plant, taking notes and translating Environmental and Safety Management (ESM) policies for sharing and discussion at the Consus BalticAl smelter in Kaunas, Lithuania.Robin Ingenthron, founder of Good Point Recycling, welcomed Mr. Kriauciunas to Middlebury. "I learned a lot about due diligence by trucking, testing and separating. I think Jonas' volunteering to work in the trenches in the USA is a great start for a Lithuanian company interested in best environmental practices." Ingenthron and Kriauciunas plan to travel to Lithuania in the summer, to see how environmentally safe management has been translated.DeConsus controls the major aluminum refining and smelting operations in Lithuania, which sells primarily to Mercedes Benz in Germany. A new European Union member state, Lithuania has a population of 3.5 million and a tradition in mining, quarrying, and manufacturing in Eastern Europe. Their major trading partners are Germany and Poland, both OECD members."DeConsus wants to recycle more." Kriauciunas states. "We see recycling as the long-term environmental solution for aluminum and other commodities. Electronics are a potential source of aluminum, but we also want to investigate whether our company can provide the best answer for Europe's new WEEE directives."Other DeConsus representatives are working at Engelhard-Clal metals in England, where DeConsus plans to recycle gold-bearing circuit boards. At this point, Mr. Kriauciunas has no interest in importing CRTs, but wants to learn more how they can be managed by working at a USA plant. Ingenthron explained how sharing senior management can improve environmental stewardship and everyday business transactions, "I can ask Jonas, 'hey, what do you guys do with the power supplies?' And he can call Lithuania and find out." Following all applicable USA and international laws, Good Point Recycling will prepare and stage containerloads of material for DeConsus to import. In the future, DeConsus will decide whether to offer more of the demanufacturing and testing at their facility in Kaunas, Lithuania, but American Retroworks will continue to provide domestic hard drive destruction and CRT glass recycling. They have already contacted Lithuania's environmental ministry, which is the chief contact for the Basel Convention."In Lithuania, the old attitude towards environmental protection was, 'give them a pound of paper'." says Kriauciunas. "It was all about bureaucracy. Today DeConsus and Good Point Recycling believe that environmental diligence is good business. It's about environmental results." Both Ingenthron and Kriauciunas are former employees of the Massachusetts state government (DEP and Capital Planning), though they met just recently as recyclers. Kaunas is Lithuania's second largest city and is considered a gateway between western Europe and eastern Europe. Lithuania borders Russia, Poland, Latvia and Belarus, and has a port on the Baltic sea. It is a member of NATO and the European Union.Contacts:American Retroworks Inc. Cuban-Americans ask U.S. government to relax restrictions on travel and remittances to Cuba.

Washington, D.C. April 20, 2004 -- As Cuban-Americans we yearn for a normal relationship with our country of origin. We have families on the island that we desire to visit and help on a regular basis. U.S. laws severely limit our ability to visit and to send remittances to our loved ones in Cuba, and the Bush Administration's recent suspension of the U.S./Cuba migration conversations threaten to further isolate us from our families. We are now permitted only one family visit to Cuba within a twelve-month period, and our remittances are limited to only $1200 per family per year.It is immoral to premise our foreign policy toward Cuba on isolating the Cuban people from their loved ones and causing unnecessary economic hardship to our families there. Moreover, we have a constitutional right to travel to Cuba to visit our families, and we have a constitutional right to send remittances without any arbitrary restrictions imposed on us by the United States government. The U.S. Interests Section in Havana routinely denies visitors' visas to our families in Cuba, because of concerns that under the terms of the Cuban Adjustment Act any Cuban who touches U.S. soil is eligible to remain as a lawful permanent resident. As a result, Cubans risk their lives by trying to cross the dangerous Florida straights on flimsy rafts in an often fatal effort to reach U.S. shores. Many Cuban men, women and children have lost their lives trying to cross those shark-infested waters. It is immoral to entice innocent people to risk their lives for a green card. We ask that the Congress eliminate the Cuban Adjustment Act and restore normalcy to visa processing at the U.S. Interests Section. The United States agreed in the Migration Accords it signed with Cuba not to put human lives at risk or to encourage illegal and dangerous immigration, yet the Cuban Adjustment Act does precisely that by rewarding those arrive illegally on U.S. shores and punishing those who would apply for nonimmigrant visas at the U.S. Consulate in Havana only to receive denials.Earlier this year, the Bush Administration unilaterally suspended the regular conversations it had with Cuba regarding migration issues. This capricious refusal to discuss issues of utmost importance to Cuban-Americans is irresponsible and harmful to the lives of our families. We call on Congress to lift all restrictions on our right to travel to Cuba and our right to send remittances to our loved ones. We also call on Congress to eliminate the Cuban Adjustment Act. Moreover, we call on the Bush Administration to resume the Migration talks with Cuba and to abide by the agreements already entered into with Cuba in 1994 and 1995.Cuban American Alliance and Education Fund1010 Vermont Ave., NW #620Washington, DC 20005www.cubamer.orgContacts: Delvis Fernandez: (202) 543-6780Jose Pertierra: (202) 783-6666Luis Rumbaut: (202) 723-2602

Travel Nursing Could Be The Most Fulfilling Thing You Will Ever Do

I love travel nursing. With travel nursing I'm not stuck in one place, and my employment takes me places I wouldn't be able to travel if I didn't have a job to take me there. Travel nursing allows me to meet new people, and see new places, and the wonderful thing is that with this nursing job I get to decide how long I stay. I love travel nursing. I get paid premium wages, excellent benefits, and I even get free quality, company housing with many of my jobs. I never have to pay the rent. I don't have heating bills, electric bills, or any of the normal household expenses most people have, so travel nursing allows me to make good money, and also save it for the future when I do decided to settle down. However, I love travel nursing so much, I don't know if I will ever go to a regular nursing job where I am stuck at one place, basing my hours and vacations, and life on other people's schedules. I love travel nursing because I can choose where and when, and the only thing that stops me is availability of the nursing position where I want to be. The thing I love most about travel nursing is that it is so in demand these days. I can spend a week in California, by the beach, and the next month do a long stay in Vermont and ski the mountains. Travel nursing gives me flexibility I never dreamed of when I was studying to become a nurse, and that's why I love that I made travel nursing my career choice.Go to www.nursingresource.info, where you will easily find information on travel nursing and nursing jobs.

Vermont - A Destination For Summer?

When it comes to American holidays, the modest northern state of Vermont is usually associated with the winter season instead of the summer. But whilst the state is an excellent ski destination when the snow arrives, during its continental summers, Vermont becomes the land of summer camps, swimming holes and country hikes. So what does The Green Mountain State have to offer?Vermont is located in the north east of the country and borders with New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Canada. Making up around half of its western border however, is Lake Champlain. Named after the French explorer, the founder of Quebec City stumbled across the Lake from the north exactly 4 centuries ago this year. Consequently, 2009 is the perfect year to visit the inspirational lake and the islands scattered upon it that make up Grand Isle County. The flavour of Vermont is multicultural and diverse, with an unsurprising French influence. Yet, one of the most intriguing resort options has its roots in Austria. The Von Trapp family (their story made famous in The Sound of Music) fled to Vermont in 1942 and opened a ski-lodge eight years later. Today, the Trapp Family Lodge near Stowe offers mountain biking and hiking trails, a fitness centre, and tours for the whole family - all amidst the wholesome nostalgia of their legacy.Vermont is also home to a number of interesting historical attractions. The former homestead of President Calvin Coolidge is considered one of the most well-preserved and unchanged historical sites in the country looking exactly as it did when he was sworn in as President on August 3rd 1923. In Springfield, Windsor County, Eureka Schoolhouse is the oldest one-room schoolhouse in the county at over 200 years of age. Again, the building is well-preserved and can be visited today. However, no doubt the most alluring part of Vermont is its natural side best exemplified by its many State Parks. If Hiking and Walking in Branbury isn't exciting enough, Burton Island State Park in the north west of the county offers a range of water related activities in its impressive island setting. Canoeing and Kayaking are popular in the area, and the island has 17 peaceful campsites.

The largest granite quarry in the U.S. is in Rutland, the Rock of Ages QuarryVermont is a favorite place for children's summer camps. Trout fishing draws outdoors lovers to the state. In winter, backcountry skiers visit to travel the length of the state Trail. Vermont state parks are worth visiting in the summer for all recreational activities, and in the winter for skiing. How to Save Money When Booking a Vacation Through Your Travel Agency

With an uncertain economy and, for many, an uncertain future, some people are opting to put off vacations. Despite the potential problems on the horizon, that does not have to be the case. When you work with a travel agency, you can save a lot of money. Almost anyone can afford to travel if they follow these six tips when booking a vacation through a travel agency:

Tip #1: Be clear that you're on a very tight budget.

If you want to save money when you vacation, your best bet is to tell your travel agent that from the start. There is little to be gained by hiding the fact that you want to travel on a shoestring budget. Furthermore, be really clear about what that budget is, since "inexpensive" to one person is not cheap to another. The clearer you are about your price range, the better. That way, your travel agent can put together a vacation package that you can afford, not work for a long time on something that doesn't even come close to your budget.

Tip #2: Have flexible travel dates and times.

The more options you give your travel agent when it comes to your vacation dates, the better. Flights tend to change prices drastically over the weekend, so moving your vacation just two or three days could save you hundreds of dollars. Avoiding holidays is also good. When you're flexible, your travel agent can also barter for hotel rooms, show tickets, and so forth with other companies in the travel industry. For example, if your travel agent knows that another agent is trying to fill rooms he or she bought in a chunk for a discounted price, you can get a better deal on one of those rooms. Give your travel agent a bit of wiggle room to negotiate. Likewise, if you are willing to travel at undesirable times, like in the early morning hours or overnight, you may be able to get a cheaper deal, at least on the transportation costs.

Tip #3: Ask for a cheaper version of your dream vacation.

During your initial meeting with your travel agent, have an open mind when it comes to destination. Talk about your dream vacation spot, but then hear out your agent on places that are similar but not as expensive. For example, say you want to visit Aspen for a gorgeous ski vacation. It might be less expensive (but just as fun) to go skiing at one of the resorts in Vermont. You might feel like your compromising too much, but think about your destination choices long and hard. If it is just the name holding you back, you might want to just let go and take a risk on the less expensive location. You might have just as much fun if you stay open-minded

Tip #4: Stay in the United States.

Work with a travel agent who books domestic trips so that you can stay in the United States. In most cases, you should save money on transportation since you will not have to travel as far. You may also be able to travel without documentation, as long as you have a picture ID. When you travel out of the country, you need a passport at the very least, and you may need a visa, certain vaccinations, or other travel documents as well. When you stay in the United States, you should also not have to worry about added cell phone expenses to make calls, losing money on the exchange rate, or paying top dollar to take your luggage with you.

Tip #5: Be willing to do some of the planning yourself.

The whole reason you use a travel agent is to avoid having to do the planning work yourself, but if you compromise on that a bit, you may be able to save money. Instead of working with a travel agent who plans every last detail, get someone that is a little less expensive and just book your flight and hotel through the agent. When it comes to the other stuff, like getting tickets to an event or making restaurant reservations, you can do the work yourself.

Tip #6: Organize a group tour.

A great way to save money on your vacation is to organize a tour through your travel agency. Group rates will apply, but more importantly, the person who organized the vacation typically gets to travel for free. The down side of that is that you have to commit to finding a certain number of people who will go on vacation with you, which can be hard. You are also responsible for them if they do not pay, and you have to, essentially, share you vacation. However, this is a great way to save money and make sure that you can still travel, even if you are on a budget.
